Closely Knit serves as a personal reminder of all past time and ongoing relationships you have. A tapestry with several strands of knitted yarn grows for as long as you live, displaying which people you have been in contact with. A strand for each relationship; the length of each strand showing the duration and the thickness showing the intensity. People belonging to the same tribe (family, school, work, etc.) have strands in the same color range. If you meet new people, a new strand will start to grow, on itself in a “new” color when there is no link to prior relationships or as a sidetrack of an existing strand if you were introduced by someone you know. Mounted on the wall, Closely Knit adds a centimeter of vertically oriented tapestry every month, summarizing your relationships for that month in a new pattern that continues the previous patterns. You can see who has had the most impact on your life during each stage, how many tribes you have been part of and who has introduced you to who. And most important of all, Closely Knit reminds you that you wouldnʼt be you if it wasnʼt for all the people you have met in your life.
